Volunteering

Volunteering with Coventry Society for the Blind

Coventry Society for the Blind is dependent on the kind support of our volunteers, without whom we would be unable to provide the range of services, activities, and support to people with visual and dual sensory impairments that we currently deliver.   We are immensely grateful to all our existing volunteers, but of course we always require more!

Whatever your interests and skills we believe your support would be of value to the Society and in return we hope you will benefit from developing new skills and experiences and accessing training opportunities, as well as enjoying the knowledge that you are making a real difference to people’s lives.

Perhaps you are seeking a new challenge or you wish to develop new skills, build confidence and make new friends? Whether you are already working or are unemployed, between jobs or studying we hope to provide opportunities to suit your requirements.

What we can offer you:

Access to training opportunities

Reimbursement of out of pocket expenses

Opportunities to develop new skills and experiences

Opportunities to socialise with other volunteers and staff

Opportunities to build confidence and self esteem

Chances to make a real difference to people’s lives

A flexible and supportive working environment

 some of our volunteers Comments:

''Volunteering at the Society has always been a rewarding experience. I have enjoyed every day I have worked here, because there is such a friendly atmosphere, and always lots to do.  I had some spare time and started coming here for 1 day a week.  I have found that using my skills to help others is a real thrill and on top of that I am learning so much in return.  Working for such a good cause invites you to express your full potential and serve the society as best you can''.
