CRCB samples Long Itchington's Beer Festival
On Sunday 30th April CRCB service users and volunteers boarded the minibus and headed to Harvester Beer Festival in Long Itchington. Darren Millis, minibus driver for CRCB, organised the whole trip - from driving the minibus, to planning the leisurely walk along the canal to the festival.
When asked about the experience of walking along the canal, service user Peter Smith said: "It was good to have a guide, as we were walking on uneven surfaces near the canal and there were quite a few steps." Pete also added: "I enjoyed being somewhere where you could feel the history of the place."
It was a fantastic day out, buzzing with people. Mark Galvin, a volunteer at CRCB, said: "It was busy, but we all got a seat in the pub." There was also unexpected live entertainment. Mark added how they were almost trapped in the pub: "We couldn't get out past the Morris dancers."
It seems like our service users and volunteers really enjoyed this minibus outing, which we are delighted to hear. We would like to say a huge thank you to volunteer Darren Millis for organising such an enjoyable event.
There certainly will be more days out in good company, full of history, food and drink to sample.
