On Sunday 9th July, from 4pm until 7pm, we hosted our Summer Volunteers Party to say thank you to our wonderful volunteers.
Throughout the year we have seen inspiring displays of commitment, support and dedication to helping CRCB service users. Our volunteers work extremely hard, often making tasks look effortless, however we know that it's important to recognise the time, patience and enthusiasm which they put into their individual roles.
We wanted to say a huge thank you to our volunteers and give them the chance to meet, and mingle with, volunteers who they do not usually work with.
Trustee/Managers Rosie Brady and Tricia Griffiths hosted the event in the Mary Beale room, at the back of the Resource Centre. There were also tables and chairs set out in the garden, which was great to make the most of as it was a beautifully sunny day. Most of the volunteers chose to relax outside with a refreshing glass of Pimms.
Tricia Griffiths and Trustee Bill Evans each prepared delicious dishes for the hot buffet, which was enjoyed after a set from Visibly Sound.
The Music Group work well as a team and had fun while rehearsing for the event. On the day they sang truly uplifting music.
After a second set by Visibly Sound, and just before the inauguration of the puddings, Rosie Brady gave a speech on behalf of CRCB Trustees.
Rosie thanked all of the volunteers for the work that they do for Coventry Resource Centre for the Blind. She then explained the difficult position the Resource Centre now finds itself in and how any financial help people are able to give would be greatly appreciated.
The speech was positive and motivational; Coventry Resource Centre for the Blind has made significant progress, transformed people's lives and we want to make sure CRCB keeps moving forward.
It was clear from seeing everybody at the Summer Volunteers Party that we are a fantastic team at CRCB, and it's thanks to our wonderful volunteers that we have achieved so much as a charity.
Well done everyone and a massive thank you!
