Charity Quiz Night & Raffle was one of our biggest fundraisers to date
On Saturday 13th April we hosted That Is The Question, our charity quiz night and raffle, at Beechwood Tennis Club in Earlsdon.
Around 90 people attended the event - an incredible turn out. We were delighted to see so many friendly faces and lots of new people came along too.
The night kicked off with our charity quiz, hosted by the wonderful Richard Warren of the Criterion Theatre, Coventry. The first round got everybody involved, competing against members of their own team until there was one person standing. The whole room was brought together and made to giggle as we played along. There was also a fun music round and a general knowledge round, when things got serious!
In between rounds, we enjoyed soup as a starter and an exquisite hot buffet prepared by Trustee/Manager and chef extraordinaire Patricia Griffiths. Tricia goes out of her way to provide excellent food at all of our fundraising events, but she really pulled it out of the bag this time by catering for around 90 people.
The raffle was also a huge success. It was lovely to hear people chatting about the prizes they had won at our previous raffles, such as a meal for 4-6 people cooked by General Manager Hugh Sorrill - people gave wonderful feedback on Hugh's cuisine and were keen to recommend this prize to others.
We are DELIGHTED to announce that overall we raised an astonishing £2,300 for Coventry Resource Centre for the Blind.
We would like to say a massive thank you to everybody who came along and took part in the quiz.
We also want to thank everybody who worked behind the scenes to make it happen. We couldn't ask for more thoughtful, attentive staff and volunteers.
We can't wait for our next fundraising event. See you there!
