Thank you to everyone who came along, performed and helped out at CRCB's Autumn Evening of Entertainment
On Saturday 29th October we hosted an Autumn Evening of Entertainment at Beechwood Lawn Tennis Club. Over seventy friends and family of CRCB came along to be entertained by an array of musical and literary talent. We are delighted to announce that we managed to raise in excess of £500.
CRCB's Music Group Visibly Sound opened the night with a fantastic set with some brilliant solos. Mark Horrill brought comedy to one of the numbers with funny verbal interjections. There were also some more poignant songs, equally enjoyed by all.
Then, General Manager Hugh Sorrill took to the stage, as Tricia Griffiths - Trustee Manager and chef extraordinaire - was busy preparing the Ploughman's Supper, which was soon to follow. Hugh recited two humourous poems which left the audience chuckling and reminiscing.
After a cheese feast of a Ploughman's Supper, the audience were entertained by music from Nadia Bourdouane, Mahendra and Nigel, three wonderful musicians who captivated the room with beautiful renditions of well-known songs.
While the audience were enjoying a choice of three delicious cakes, Sinéad Brady performed her poetry set. Sinéad writes her own poetry, and was delighted to share three of her poems with friends of CRCB.
Last Train Home, who are Chris Norman and Matt Horspool, were next to perform. They were joined by Mahendra and Nigel to form a SUPER group. By this point the audience were dancing in their seats! It was an incredible end to a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Thank you to everyone who came to An Autumn Evening of Entertainment. Thank you to all of the brilliant performers, and a massive thanks to everyone who helped set up or mucked in at the end - your help is greatly appreciated!
