The Pantomime

We're looking forward to our next event which will be the pantomime - Aladdin - performed for us by the Caramba Theatre company. Their production of Cinderella last year was so good that we're holding this one at a bigger venue, so more people can enjoy a very entertaining afternoon!

It will be at St. Martin's Church Hall, Green Lane, Coventry

on Sunday 8th January 2012 , starting at 2.30pm

Winter Warmer

A big "Thank You" to everyone who contributed gifts, cakes, bottles etc, and to all who helped with preparations and supported us on the day.

A total of £700 was raised, which will be very valuable in helping the work of the Resource Centre to continue.

David Monks MBE

On Tuesday 18th October 2011 Dave Monks went to Buckingham Palace to receive his MBE.

This has been awarded to him for all the work he has done over many years to help blind and partially sighted people.

The Lions have agreed to support the Resource Centre for the next two years by matching our fundraising efforts, for which we are very grateful.

Open Day

The Open Day was a very interesting and successful event, with 8 companies attending, plus Wireless for the Blind, Coventry Carers, and over 80 visitors.

There were demonstrations of a variety of magnifying and reading equipment and an opportunity to try out our computers.

Many thanks to the ushers from Coventry Leofric Lions for their help in welcoming and assisting visitors.

HOPE for the Resource Centre

During September we have had several visits from the Salvation Army HOPE team.

(HOPE stands for Helping Other Projects Evolve)

Donkey Derby

The Donkey Derby was an enjoyable and well attended afternoon at the Memorial Park, with the weather staying warm and dry with some sunshine.

The Resource Centre stall raised over £300.

"Pin-the-tail-on-the-Donkey" was very popular with the younger visitors.

Many thanks to all who helped to make this such a successful event.
